Semi wreck near Othello

A trooper with the Washington State Patrol takes statements from eyewitnesses who saw the the driver of  this overturned semi lose control and leave the roadway as it was  traveling westbound on SR-26 near milepost 34 Aug. 4. The driver, who sustained minor injuries, was transported to Othello Community Hospital where he was treated and then released. Othello Lions Club donates to softball team bound for World Series.

Dan Dever, president of the Othello Lions Club, presents a check for $1,000 to Nyomi Villa, pitcher for the Othello 12U All-Star softball team. The generous donation will help cover expenses for the team’s trip to the Babe Ruth World Series Softball Tournament in Alachua, Fla., Aug. 6 to 14. Othello earned the right to represent the entire Pacific Northwest after being  crowned  12U Regional Champs July 24.
