Washington State Patrol Fire Training Academy graduates 17

State Fire Marshal Michael Matlick is announcing that 17 firefighters are preparing to graduate from the Washington State Patrol Fire Training Academy Basic Firefighter 1 program. On Aug. 21, 18 candidates started the 180-hour Basic Firefighter I program.  On Nov. 1, 17 candidates will be acknowledged for having completed the training.

Yakima area troopers seize 15 pounds of marijuana
