Dan Nygard is the new owner of Pronto Lube, located at 200 South First Avenue. After purchasing the business in early November, he turned the reins over to Ray Garza, his new business manager.
“We opened the doors on Friday the 6th and we are ready for customers,” Garza said.
The Pronto Lube has been in Othello since 1994. The business has typically catered to individuals who need to have their oil changed and chassis lubricated. But Garza has added a new feature to the business.
“We are offering a detail service by appointment only,” he said. “We’ve hired Valente Pastor who used to detail muscle cars, so I know people will like the job he does.”
But the main bailiwick of service offered at Pronto Lube is an oil change and chassis lube for personal and commercial vehicles.
“The standard low-mileage full-service option for a V-6 engine using 76 motor oil is $35.99, the synthetic-blend service for a high-mileage vehicle is $42.24 and a full-synthetic high-mile oil change is $62.99,” Garza said. “All come with up to five quarts of oil and filter. We also top off all the fluids and inspect your wipers and check the air pressure in all your tires.”
Air filters he said are extra and cost of service for commercial vehicles could run higher than service on your personal vehicle.
The Pronto Lube will eventually expand their service options to include a transmission and coolant system flush and will also offer monthly specials. But for now, they will stick with the lube and oil change.
Garza, who has lived in Othello most of his life is the former owner of Ray’s Car Wash and Detail on Broadway and Main, said he’ll go the extra mile for everyone who comes through the doors with as though they were a family member.
“When you bring your car in for service, I’ll treat is like it was my daughter’s and do the job right,” he said. “So, when you have to take a trip over the mountains, you’ll be good to go.”
Business hours of operation are Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m, and 8 to noon on Saturday.
