DISTRICT SUPERVISOR ELECTION
The Board of Supervisors for Grant County Conservation District has one elected position available. This position is unpaid, volunteer two-year term ending in 2015 with an average time commitment of 3-10 hours per month. The position is open to anyone who is a land owner/registered voter within the Grant County Conservation District boundaries.
The election to fill the elected position will be held on March 12, 2013 at two locations: USDA Office, 2145 Basin ST SW, Ephrata, WA 98823, from 8:00 AM to Noon and at the Grant County Conservation District, 170 N Broadway, Othello, WA 99344 from 1:00 PM to 5:00 PM. All land owners/registered voters residing within the Grant County Conservation District are eligible to vote. Absentee ballots are available upon request for eligible voters, but must be requested on or before 5:00 PM on February 26, 2013. To find out if you are within the Grant County Conservation District boundaries contact the Grant County Conservation District at 509-488-2802.
Board members and associate supervisors direct the district's focus and work. This includes working with staff on district business as well as developing the district's mission statement and plant to achieve it. The district works with youth, agencies, industry and most importantly farmers to accomplish conservation of natural resources. The current program emphasizes water and air quality issues, soil loss, education, and youth activities. All district meetings are open to the public.
Applications may be picked up at either Grant County Conservation District office: 170 N Broadway, Othello, WA 99344 by February 12, 2013 at 5:00 PM. An application may be requested by calling the Washington State Conservation Commission at 360-407-6202.
Conservation Districts of Washington State are governed by RCW 89.08.

TAKE NOTICE: That on August 27, 2012, the City of Othello, Washington filed application number ADAM-12-04 with the Adams County Water Conservancy Board to change the point of withdrawal for proposed Well No. 9 under Ground Water Permit No. G3-25933.
That said right, under priority date April 7, 1978, authorizes the withdrawal or diversion of 2000 gallons per minute and 3000 acre-feet per year from nine (9) points of withdrawal, all to be groundwater wells, located as follows:

Any interested party may submit comments, objections, and other information to the board regarding this application. The comments and information may be submitted in writing or verbally at any public meeting of the board held to discuss or decide on the application. This application will be on the board agenda during its regular meeting to be held on 1/28/2013 at 7pm in the Adams Conservation District building.
