Something new is being cooked up over at The Old Hotel Art Gallery. Gwen Seaman is taking over the kitchen each Wednesday and using it to bake up some special treats for visitors. Her specialties are cinnamon rolls, which she makes in both iced and caramel pecan varieties. They can be purchased individually or in pans of six. Individual rolls are $1.75 and the six-packs cost $8.50. Anyone who comes in to pick up a cinnamon roll can also get a free cup of coffee. After she makes them, they are put in the freezer to be available to customers over the week. When put in the microwave for a few seconds, they are just as good as when they came out of the oven, Sally Laufer, manager of The Old Hotel, said. The kitchen at the gallery isn't really being used so it's nice to have someone come in and utilize the space, she said. In addition to the cinnamon rolls, Seaman will also make breads and doughnuts occasionally, she said. She has been baking her whole life and the cinnamon rolls are her speciality, she said. This recipe she got from her mother-in-law. In the past, she has just had bake sales at her house, with good turnout from the neighbors, she said. She's been in the Othello area her entire life. She, her husband Kalan and their son Brett enjoy being outdoors and going camping, she said.
