As part of its summer reading program, the Othello branch of Mid-Columbia Libraries hosted a pool party for qualifying participants at the Othello Community Pool the night of Saturday, Aug. 10. Unfortunately, pool staff had to cut the party short due to safety concerns from the big thunderstorm that night, but it didn't stop kids from enjoying the results of reading for a total of 900 minutes since school got out. Once at the pool, names were drawn to win one of three gift baskets with prizes worth up to $150. The three gift basket winners were Aleydis and Oswaldo Mendoza and Silvia Rodriguez. Pictured is Silvia Rodriguez with the basket she won.
The library would like to thank sponsors McDonald's, El Jasmin, Time Out and Pik-a-Pop for donating gift certificates and prizes for program participants.
