Hey Kids wraps up its summer with a bang

Last week, Hey Kids finished its 19th summer with two separate parties at the Desert Havens Apartments, wrapping up two months of activities, including fishing, a trip to Camp Gifford and tours of the Columbia Wildlife Refuge.

CBHA health fair provides plenty of resources
Hundreds of Othello residents swung by Lions Park Saturday afternoon not only to take in the sights and sounds of the American Fiesta Amistad festival nearby but also to gather tips and information on staying healthy during the Columbia Basin Health Association-sponsored Othello Health Fair.

ASSE International Student Exchange Programs is seeking local host families for international high school boys and girls. These students are 15 to 18 years of age and are coming to this area for the upcoming high school year or semester.

Ugandan Orphans Kid's Choir performs
The Ugandan Orphans Kids Choir will perform in Othello Friday, Aug. 29, at 7 p.m. at the Othello Christian Church. A reception will follow the concert.
"Their infectious smiles, laughter, singing and dancing will bring a world that's far away ... right to Othello," Pastor Nan Riddle, of Othello Christian Church, said.

Othello's Risenmay competes at pageant
The Othello Distinguished Young Woman pageant winner Emily Risenmay joined 14 other contestants, including Royal City's winner Morgan Small, to compete in the state level of the program Saturday, Aug. 2, at Washington State University's Beasley Performing Arts Coliseum in Pullman.
