It's the time of year again for the best of the best of Othello to step forward and be recognized. The Greater Othello Chamber of Commerce will hold their annual banquet Feb. 22 from 6:30 to 9 p.m. at the former Othello Church of the Nazarene Gathering Place, 905 E. Ash St. The event has the theme this year Pathway from the Past to the Future. Tickets are available now at the Chamber of Commerce office at The Old Hotel, Re/Max and Basin Insurance. The event is the chamber's main fundraiser for the year and includes dinner and a silent auction. Also recognized are local people doing great things. Nominations are being accepted for their annual awards. The awards include Business of the Year, Civil Servant of the Year, Teacher of the Year (kindergarten to sixth grade), Teacher of the Year (seventh to 12th grade) and Citizen of the Year. Anyone can nominate someone for one of the awards. Nomination forms may be picked up at the Chamber office, 33 E. Larch St. The forms are available now and must be turned in by Feb. 7. Then, they will be reviewed by a board of chamber members and winners will be chosen. Those winners will be informed over the weekend and will be featured in the Feb. 14 issue of the Outlook. Then, they will all be recognized during the annual banquet.
