Michael (Mike) Steven Yurian, 1987 – 2013
Michael (Mike) Steven Yurian, 61, of Dunnigan, Calif., formally of Moses Lake, passed away Feb. 20, 2013, in the Mesquite, Nev., area while working for his employer Layne Christensen Water Drilling from Woodland, Calif. Mike was born June 6, 1951, at Sunnyside, to Kenneth and Ovella (Mitchell) Yurian. He was a loving child, good student and was also a member of the Boy Scouts and played solos in the school band on the cornet. He graduated from Ritzville High School in 1969. After the family moved to Moses Lake in 1966, he worked at Dietzens grocery store as a box boy after schools and on weekends. He also worked as a farm laborer, a crop duster helper, before he went to school for welding and was hired on with Layne Weston in 1980. The company later moved to Woodland and changed to Layne Christensen. Mike followed to continue working for them for 32 years until his passing. He had a love for motorcycles and stock car racing. In the early 70s, he raced stock car No. 55 at the Ephrata Speedway where he placed many times. His love for Harley motorcycles never grew old, it stemmed from his first low rider Harley to the last one he rode from California to Sturgis and then home to visit his family. Although he lived far away, he always made it a point to make regular trips back home to see his parents and siblings. Mike was preceded in death by his father Kenneth (Ken) Yurian, of Othello, and son-in-law Dan Paradis, of Maine. He is survived by his loving mother Ovella Yurian; and his daughters Andrea Paradis and Alyssa (Jeb) Pauley. He also leaves behind his grandchildren Kate Paradis, Ridge and Sierra Pauley. Mike is also survived by his brothers Rick (Jackie) and Doug and one sister Cathy (John) Dominguez, all of Moses Lake, and many nieces and nephews. We loved you and will miss your visits and the regular phone calls home. You will never be forgotten. At his request, no services will be held. Arrangements entrusted to Danekas Funeral Home, Othello.
