LouAnn Davis, 1932 2013

LouAnn Davis, 81, of Royal Slope, died Saturday, Aug. 24, 2013, at her home.
LouAnn was born in Ellensburg July 5, 1932, to Forest and Florence (Watson) Chadbourne. LouAnn grew up on the Royal Slope in Smyrna. She attended the Smyrna school until high school, when she moved to Wenatchee where she stayed with family while she attended school. She graduated from Wenatchee High School in 1950. While in Wenatchee, she spent a lot of time with her long-time friend Robert "Boyd" Davis. They were married July 9, 1950. Together, they raised six children on the Columbia River, in Wenatchee and on the Royal Slope. LouAnn was an amazing rancher. She loved the animals, frequently naming them and talking to them. She was an excellent horsewoman. She was known to ride her childhood horse Prince standing up in the saddle or jumping over fences, always followed closely by her dog Whizbang. Later, she rode her horse Sundown in many community days' parades in Royal City, as well as to many cattle roundups. She was a big supporter of the Adams County Fair. Always active in 4-H with her children and grandchildren, up until just a few years ago, she was the goat superintendent. When she wasn't at the goat barn, LouAnn was watching her grandchildren show animals, first for the 3Rs and then the Grandmas Grandkids 4-H Club from Royal City. LouAnn was an avid gardener; she planted some beautiful planters and grew many of the vegetables she ate. She was an avid talker and enjoyed her time with the "Crab Creek Cacklers," the "Cowbells" (later known as the Cattlewomen) and the Royal senior center.
LouAnn loved to travel, she and Boyd shared many adventures with their family, the first airplane trip they took was to Florida and Disney World, they had many outings camping and in the 5th wheel at Vancouver, Victoria, Texas, California, Yellowstone, South Dakota, Oregon and Alaska. In the past year, she visited Alaska by sea and Portland by train, as well as Lake Wenatchee and Lake Roosevelt with family, church family and friends.
LouAnn will be remembered for her hard-working hands, welcoming smile and easy going way. She made an impact on everyone she met. She enjoyed Bingo and Aug. 21, she was excited because she won twice at the Royal City Moose lodge. She was a member of the Church of God Faith of Abraham in Wenatchee.
LouAnn was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Boyd and her sister Harriet. She is survived by her sons Mark (Sandy), of Cashmere, Forest (Jolinda), of Royal City, and Troy (Marlys), of Ephrata; her daughters Wendy (Mike) Dart and Robyn (Paul) Dahlstrom, both of Cashmere; and Rae Ann (Floyd) Lewis, of Moses Lake; 17 grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren.
